This Kong Aluminum Rescue Figure Eight (Big 8) is manufactured of forged alloy aluminum and hard coated for extra long wear. The hard coat will not flake and cause premature wear in ropes. The rescue figure eight is used for rappelling, belaying, a lowering device for fire and rescue, as well as for emergency situations on your challenge course. The ears provide easy one hand locking and prevents the rope from girth hitching.
